Framed: 39 x 31 1/2 x 4 inches.Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is not lined and exhibits distortions throughout; network of craquelures throughout; instances of pinpoint paint losses in the center and lower center; one piece of debris adhered to the surface along the upper left edge; inpainting along the upper edge, visible under normal viewing conditions; under a reflective varnish. Under UV light: selective passages of the varnish have been cleaned around the figures; areas of retouching or strengthening to the outlines of the grandfather and baby; one pinpoint spot of inpainting in the center right; one area of inpainting in the lower right corner; any additional inpainting is not visible due to the uneven varnish application in the upper left corner.
